    Retired players

I just took over a team and have players on my team that are retired in real life. How does that end up working out? Do they finish the time left on their contracts?

They count against your 53 roster limit, and don’t retain their ability from former seasons. Unless you are hoping for a Gronk-like return, you may as well cut them.

Damn really. So for example I have Marshall Yanda on my team to a 4 year deal. The last time he played in the NFL was in 2019. If I put him in my lineup that would just be hurting my team?

Yeah, for all practical purposes he's useless. He'll never show up as available since availability is based on the previous season.

You wont even be able to put him in the lineup

I guess it's possible that he could grow a beard and inspire people from the sidelines like Eric Berry did, but I wouldn't count on that.

Yeah, he inspired people alright, but I'm not in a good way.
